Alicia Kroll is a life skills teacher with a degree in Studio Art from Beloit College and an Art Education License from UNC Asheville, where she was taught by brilliant teachers and surrounded by a thriving art community. Her work has been shown in juried exhibitions at UNCA and sold in a fundraiser for the Asheville Art Museum and in the Shelburne Museum store.
The paintings are done in acrylics because of the rich colors and quick drying times. I paint quickly and try to lay many images on top of each other in order to challenge myself and add depth and interest to my work. I am inspired by the beauty of nature. I am compelled to convey the complexity and liveliness of even the stillest of subjects.
